Silver Filigree by sehara Silver Filigree by sehara
Silver Filigree
Materials:
black polymer clay and silver powder
Tools:
PC extruder and a lot of patience
Total time:
approx. 5 hours

This is my most elaborate PC creation ever. You should have seen me the day before yesterday when I was running around my workshop and trying to find my extruder (it was, as usual, right before my eyes:lol:) because I had the idea "boiling" in my mind.

Silver Filigree by *sehara The detail and the work that went into this sort of blows my mind. It almost looks like something you would find on a dig, not newly made. ( Suggested by Cosira and Featured by ohnojaylo )

Thank you so much :D.
This is my way of proving that PC is not to be taken lightly and as second-rate material (did I get that right?sorry, I'm not a native speaker). What I mean to say is that lot of people underestimate the work of PC artists because of the material they use, eventhough it can be as challenging and as beautiful as any other medium.

Thank you again. Please stop by again, there are more PC works to come.

Oh, I will~! I love seeing things made with polymer clay :aww: I'm not good at it myself, but it impresses me how many beautiful things people can make with them.

I have to show this image to my mother. She loves polymer clay, too~!

Thanks for coming back as you promised :D

It took only 5 hours, which is little more than average (avrg being about 3) for PC work.
A lot of people did fav it since the DD gave me a huge exposure and I found it a great honor since I'm practically a novice at dA (but not at jewelry).
Thank you for your king words and good wishes, and please stop by again for a chat:D.

I was looking at doing a bachelor of fine arts and majoring in jewelry for quite a while, however, very high op is required to get into the particular uni.... very very high op... this is brilliant i would love to learn how to do this stuff... jelous.. if only i had enough brains to get a brilliant fantabulistic op

OK, for starters, I'm not a native speaker, so you'll have to help me a little bit: what do you mean by "high op". Then I'll be able to give you a full answer.

BTW practice makes perfect-you should see my first PC creation (and laugh you arse off:D)

an op is like a ranking you get when you complete high school. what it does is helps the uni's decide whether you are good enough, someone with a high op is more likely to get in, Its an australian thing however some states have a different method.

Whatta interesting work!
Looks very ethnic^_^
Is it stylization or your imagination?;-)
Reply
:iconsehara:

It does look ethnic-this polymer clay technique is called Balinese filigree and there are so many different things you can make with it.
It's only my imagination :D.
